Pre-O takes place Aug. 16-21, right before New Student Orientation begins. You can learn more about our many Pre-O offerings and sign up here — space is limited, and registration is first-come, first-served. (Athletes should check with their coaches before signing up for a Pre-O program.)

Fall Fest (a carnival with an outdoor concert and free food!), Center Stage (a big-name comedian and free food!), Black Student Union Stomp Out and Fashion Show Bison Sound (student band festival and free food!) , Chrysalis (end of year celebration with a concert, chocolate fountain and much more! Canoe Battleship (imagine canoes in the pool and sinking them with buckets of water)
First year students are not allowed to bring a car to campus. However, we have a campus shuttle which operates on campus, downtown Lewisburg, Walmart and the grocery stores located on Route 15. The current shuttle schedule can be found https://www.bucknell.edu/azdirectory/student-transportation
You will find that Bucknellians are broadly engaged in activities and projects on and off of the campus. Students are incredibly focused on their academic success and yet make time to socialize. workout at the KLARC and develop their leadership skills through involvement in clubs and organizations.
In addition to our 150 student organizations, the events planned by the CAP center and CORE team, and the Outdoor Education and Leadership trips, students are engaged in working with the Bucknell farm and a host of community agencies through the Office of Civic Engagement. Students also participate through Recreation Services in a wide variety of intramural activities.
First year students are housed together in designated first year halls and placed based upon their foundation seminar. First year students also have the option of choosing to reside in a residential college program within a first year building.
Following completion of the housing questionnaire, first year students are matched with a roommate based upon their answers. The housing services office conducts the roommate matching and assignments for first year students.
Bucknell is conveniently centrally located between NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC. Lewisburg offers amazing outdoor opportunities on the Susquehanna River, the local bike trail, countless hiking spots, and surrounding ski mountains. Favorite local student destinations include Knoebels Amusement Park, Ard’s Farm (hayrides, pumpkin patch, animals, and more), the Little League World Series, Penn’s Cave, and much more. Of course, Lewisburg has some incredible restaurants and downtown events!
